This week I have been thinking about how wrong it seems to call this day “good”. My first thoughts have just been that it seems that the day that Jesus died should not be synonymous with the word good…
Monday evening I sat around a table with six people that I love hanging out with who all…

A year ago I posted an entry for a contest solely for my Twitter followers in celebration of my 1,000th tweet (I know, I know, a little ridiculous to celebrate tweets but keep reading). I gave my followers a chance to win a $50 American Express Gift Card, but here was the spin, the contestants were to send me their most creative way of using the $50 to meet a need in their area or use it to do something for others (read the originally post here). The whole idea is to encourage others to live a life of giving.
I finally can give you guys an update on how the money was used. Read Murna’s (the winner) submission here first before reading below.
Murna surprised Albert and his wife, Hope, after a sermon at church with brunch and a card signed by the whole congregation, which included a gift certificate to the movies, to show their appreciation to the couple. Murna noted that Albert hates surprises and doesn’t like to be recognized for his work. They shared with Albert and Hope what the couple meant to them. Before the ceremony ended, Albert had some closing remarks: ”Thank you for doing this but even if you hadn’t, I do what I do for God and not for your praise. Remember that everything you do is for God and the mission he put in your heart and not for other people. So no matter what, keep doing what you need to do.”

Maybe a 5,000th Tweet Contest is in order (only 1,500 tweets away).
