In celebration of my 1,000th tweet, I have decided to give something away to one of my followers.  Cheesy?  Yes, however, it’s not just a handout and it’s more meaningful than a 1,000th tweet.  Growing up, I was taught the importance of helping others, especially when I have been blessed with so much.  I’ve always loved meeting the needs of others where I can, and this is one of the primary reasons Pat Wright and I started One Thread Outfitters (check it out).  So what’s the give-away?  I’m giving away a $50 American Express Gift Card to one of my Twitter followers!  Well it’s more of a contest with a spin.  I don’t want you to just use the money on yourself.  Here’s the deal:

2.)   @ me or send me a DM with your most creative way of using the $50 to meet a need in your area.

3.)   I will choose one idea and the winner will receive the gift card (remember you must be one of my Twitter followers, I’ll DM you to get a shipping address)

4.)   You will then use the $50 to meet the need (and yes it’s the honor system here, I mean how could you really sleep at night if you used the money on yourself?)

5.)   Send me a message, blog, video, etc. of what you did so I can share it with others.

This isn’t a marketing campaign for a company or a stunt to gather personal information to send you spam.  This money is out of my own pocket and, no, I can’t write it off.  I want to live my life helping others and encouraging others to do the same.  You don’t have to be a millionaire to make a difference.  Just do what you can, where you are, with what you’ve been blessed with.  You will be amazed how small things can change a person’s life. If we all did our part, the world would be a much different place.
